Robotic Construction: The Egg Tarantula was built in an arachnid form. It has eight powerful legs, two large eyes and a dome-covered cockpit in which the controller rides. The passenger is immune to Disease and Gas attacks, but can be affected by Psionic attacks.

The Egg Tarantula was a battle vehicle made by Dr. Eggman, which he started building shortly after the destruction of the third Metal Sonic and Metal Scourge. Eggman used it to defend himself against Sonic the Hedgehog after he, the Knothole Freedom Fighters and Chaotix, stormed his base in order to defeat the Eggman Empire once and for all. It's abilities included wall-climbing, a grappling hook, a laser in its abdomen, blades on the tips of the spider legs, and a high level of agility. It wasn't enough to stop Sonic as he smashed the mech with relative ease. This was the last straw for Dr. Eggman, as he went completely insane following this defeat.
