Cream found a group of Chao one day and rushed to protect them from Snively Robotnik, who was after them. She and her mother were later saved by Amy, the recipient of Vanilla's SOS. Cream later helped Amy deal the final blow to Snively's machine using her ears for flight, but her manor got destroyed as a result. Amy allowed her and Vanilla to stay in her house in New Mobotropolis until NICOLE could make them a new home. Cream was initially reluctant to go, as the Chao did not have a Chao Garden to go back to. Amy offers to have NICOLE make the current Lake of Rings into a Garden to live in. She immediately brightens up, finding a friend in Amy, and moves into "the big city" with her mother and pet, Cheese.
