Nic's past is relatively unknown. Through a speech hinted by Nack, their family was supposedly very wealthy. However, Nack also hinted at having trouble with his parents when Sally lied about having trouble with her's. Nic and Nack's shared hatred seems to stem from reasons which presumably happened in their childhoods.
Nic has been a bounty hunter for most of her life. When she was passing by a section of Mobius, an exhausted and recently escaped Fiona Fox came to her for aid. Since then, the two worked together for years as partners. Fiona and Nic often had encounters with Rouge the Bat who would generally beat them to finding and retrieving treasures. During their partnership, the duo contracted Mighty the Armadillo to raid an abandoned containment facility for its power source. After the successful completion of the mission Nic ended her partnership with Fiona.
Later Nic, along with Nack, were hired by the Albion High Council to capture Knuckles, who had gone rogue with chaos powers. The two worked together and managed to put aside their bickering long enough to complete the job. When Knuckles managed to break free, Nic and Nack noticed how dangerous the situation had become and declined the offer to re-capture Knuckles.
